A local technical college is getting some money from the Microsoft Foundation.
Lakeshore Technical College has been named one of fourteen recipients of the Cyber Skills for All: Community Colleges Lead The Way grant initiative.
The college in Cleveland was awarded $20,000 to help increase participation and/or enrollment in cybersecurity programs.
The Lakeshore cybersecurity program was launched in 2022, and President Dr. Paul Carlsen reports that enrollment has exceeded expectations.
In a news release, he stated, “This grant will enable Lakeshore to accelerate our efforts to recruit women and underrepresented students into cyber fields.”
