It was a massive night for a swimmer on the Two Rivers/Roncalli squad at the EWC Championship.
Evan Harrison not only won two individual events and was part of a winning relay team, but he also set two new conference records.
He broke his own record in the 200 freestyle, finishing with a time of 1:45.00, besting his previous best by a quarter of a second.
Then, he finished the 500 Freestyle in 4:50.21, decimating the previous record set by Parker Sonnabend in 2019 by over seven seconds.
The 200 freestyle relay team, comprised of Harrison, Philip Malo, Andrew Hawki, and Dominik Springstube, also earned gold medals, while that same group finished fourth in the 200 medley relay.
The 400 freestyle relay team of Springstube, Conor Ashenbrenner, Connor Wilke, and Lance Anderson also finished 4th, as did Hawki in the 200 individual medley.
Mallo ended the meat with two individual silver medals in the 100 freestyle and 100 breaststroke, while Hawki finished 5th in the 100 backstroke, while Ashebrenner and Springstube came in 6th in the 100 butterfly and 50 freestyle, respectively.
As a team, Two Rivers/Roncalli finished the meet at Kiel High School in 3rd.
The co-ops of Kiel/Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah and Brillion/Valders/Chilton each finished with 112 points, giving them a share of the conference crown.
The KELG team had the top finishers in the 1m Dive, with Sawyer Moore earning that win, as well as the 200-medley relay team of Aaron Federwisch, Danny Boyer, Sam Keuler, and Daniel Madson.
Boyer also won the 50- and 100-yard freestyle events while the 400 freestyle relay of Boyer, Federwisch, Madson, and Mason Fintelmann finished 2nd.
Madson also earned silver medals in the 200 freestyle, with Federwisch coming in 4th, and in the 500 freestyle, where teammate Kauai Lueck finished 5th.
The 200 freestyle relay team for KELG, comprised of Lueck, Moore Keuler, and Fintelmann, earned a bronze medal, as did Kueler in the 100 butterfly, in which he was followed by Mason Fintelmann.
Kueller also finished 5th in the 200 individual medley. Rounding out the top finishes for the Kiel/Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah squad was Federwisch, who finished 4th in the 100 backstroke, and Owen Korb, who came in 5th in the 100 breaststroke.
The Brillion/Valders/Chilton squad earned a first-place finish from the 400 freestyle relay team of Gavin Buechel, Kevin Halverson, Adam Bunnel, and Bryce Hedtke, while Buechel finished first in the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke.
His teammates finished second in those events, as did Halverson in the butterfly and Hedtke in the backstroke.
Hedtke also took home bronze in the 200 individual medley.
The BVC squad had numerous third-place finishes, including the 200 medley team of Hedtke, Buechel, Halverson, and Timber Schueler, Halverson in the 200 freestyle, Bunnell in the 50 freestyle, Schueler in the 100 breaststroke, and Ty Buechel in the 500 freestyle.
He was followed closely by teammate Killiam Armstrong, while Tarik Schneider earned a bronze medal in the 1-meter dive.
Also finishing in 4th was the 200 freestyle relay team of Scheuler, Schneider, Brunnell, and Eliot Weitling, while Bunnell earned a 4th place finish in the 100 freestyle
