A man is facing charges after he was caught trying to steal over $200 worth of items from the Manitowoc Meijer store.
Officers were called to the store on Rapids Road just after 5:00 p.m. Monday (January 26th) after a worker saw a 45-year-old man had taken several items without paying.
The officer reviewed the footage, recognized the man, and noted that he had taken items, including two USB lights, a lock, three zippo lighters, an audio player, and some batteries, all concealed in a stolen backpack.
The suspect was located Wednesday and was taken into custody on charges of Misdemeanor Retail Theft and four counts of Felony Bail Jumping.
All four of those open cases revolved around retail theft, and in one case, he was ordered to have no contact with the Manitowoc Meijer store.
