A sentence has been handed down for a Manitowoc man convicted in a sexual assault case from 2018.
Judge Robert Dewayne sentenced Jake Gunner Grosshuesch to spend three years in prison, followed by four years of extended supervision after he was found guilty due to a no-contest plea on a charge of 2nd Degree Sexual Assault of an Unconscious Victim.
However, that sentence was stayed, meaning Grosshuesch will spend four years on probation, and if he violates those terms, he may be ordered to serve the prison sentence.
Grosshuesch was arrested after a woman told police that she met him at a bar and went home with him on the evening of December 6th, 2018.
The victim told investigators that the two continued to drink at the residence, where she passed out.
The victim then said that Grosshuesch sexually assaulted her while she was passed out.
Grosshuesch was ordered to comply with the sex offender registry, maintain absolute sobriety, and maintain full-time employment, schooling, or a combination thereof.
