A plea deal may be reached in the case of the Chippewa County sheriff.
Prosecutors recently announced a plea agreement with Mitchell Ludtke, who faced charges related to a police chase in April, where he allegedly attempted to hit a Cornell police officer and collided with a police car.
Ludtke’s lawyer had anticipated challenging the credibility of Chippewa County Sheriff Travis Hakes if the case proceeded to trial.
Scheduled for sentencing in April, Ludtke pleaded no contest to charges of recklessly endangering safety, fleeing an officer, and driving under the influence.
