One person suffered injuries in a fire at a residence over the weekend.
According to the Sheboygan Fire Department, the call came in reporting the fire in the 1600 block of New Jersey Avenue just before 12:30 Saturday afternoon.
Crews arrived on the scene to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the building and began attacking the blaze through a bedroom window.
Only one resident had to be treated for smoke inhalation, and all four were displaced.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but it was reported to have caused an estimated $40,000 in damage.
Battalion Chief Pat Nicolaus is reminding residents of the importance of having a working smoke detector on every floor, as well as outside and inside all bedrooms.
