A bill introduced by an Eastern Wisconsin Congressman would allow more people in aviation to report Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena or UAP’s to the Federal Aviation Administration.
6th District Congressman Glenn Grothman, who represents Manitowoc County in Washington, and California Congressman Robert Garcia introduced the Safe Airspace for Americans Act to allow civilian aviation personnel to make reports instead of specific officials.
Grothman says, “Since I was a child, unidentified objects in our airspace have been a topic of interest. UAP’s continue to raise serious questions and pose a unique risk to our national security. With a majority of Americans believing that the government has suppressed information on UAPs, our bipartisan effort highlights our need for transparency for the federal government. Regarding UAPs to better protect the safety and security of American citizens.”
To make sure pilots feel safe to report sightings, they wouldn’t be allowed to be disqualified medically and airlines couldn’t retaliate against employees who report UAPs to the FAA.
