Unity Hospice in De Pere recently held a ceremony at their Grief and Education Center to announce the 2023 winners of the prestigious Daisy Award for Extraordinary Nurses.
Unity registered nurses, Kevin Nasal and Gina Vandehei, were honored for their exceptional dedication to providing top-notch care.
They were given a custom “Extraordinary Nurse” certificate, a Daisy award pin, and a handcrafted sculpture known as “The Healer’s Touch”, symbolizing the special relationship between nurses and their patients.
As Daisy honorees, Nasal and Vandehei will also enjoy ongoing perks like discounted tuition and ANDO certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Nomination for the Daisy Award can come from patients, family members, doctors, community partners, and coworkers, and in this case, both Nasal and Vandehei were nominated by their peers.
