Local law enforcement was in the holiday spirit recently.
Officers with the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office, Manitowoc Police Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, Probation and Parole, and the Manitowoc County Joint Dispatch Center helped ensure 27 local families would have a joyful Christmas as they took them shopping through the Shop with a Cop program.
The event started at the Lincoln Park Field House, where the children were paired with law enforcement officers.
They were then escorted by police to Walmart, where they purchased gifts. After shopping, they returned to the Lincoln Park Field House to wrap the gifts, enjoy a pizza party, and have a special visit from Santa himself.
The Manitowoc Police Department thanked all of the local businesses that helped make the event a success, including Walmart, Pair-A-Dice Tours, Pizza Ranch, Dominos Pizza, and the City of Manitowoc Parks Department.
