The 2023 Salvation Army Red Kettle campaign is nearly over.
With less than a week until Christmas, the leader of the Manitowoc County unit, Captain Jenny Moffit, says they are running a little behind where they were at this point last year.
She reports that, prior to counting the weekend numbers, the Kettles are about $6,000 behind last year’s numbers.
However, she says, “This week only, any donation to any kettle throughout the entire county…will be matched by two anonymous donors, up to $30,000.”
Captain Moffit hopes that with this promotion and another coming soon, the local Salvation Army can reach their $175,000 goal and be funded for the entirety of 2024.
“Programs and services, they don’t just happen at Christmas time. They happen all year round,” Moffit said. “If you can give, great! Any donation to that kettle is match (or) call our office. We can take credit card donations at the office.”
