The City of De Pere is facing a lawsuit regarding a November 21st ordinance, that disallows discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity. The Plaintiffs, Hope Lutheran, Crosspoint, Destiny, St. Mark Lutheran, and Christ the Rock, in addition to Q90FM operators Lakeshore Communications, filed their lawsuit last week Thursday, and are looking to have the ordinance deemed unconstitutional, or to have it not apply to them. The plaintiffs say that due to their religious beliefs, the new law would conflict with their practices. There will be a public forum, and informational presentation in the City Hall Council Chambers at 5:00 tonight, which will be hosted by Stacie Christian Ph. D., Director of Inclusive Excellence and Pride Center at UWGB.
