LGBTQ lawmakers in Wisconsin are advocating for changes to the state constitution to officially recognize same-sex marriage.
Although same-sex marriage has been legal in Wisconsin since 2014, the state constitution and certain laws still define marriage as between a man and a woman.
The LGBTQ+ caucus is introducing two plans—one to reword the constitution and another to remove ‘man and a woman’ from state laws concerning marriage.
