University of Wisconsin regents are reconsidering their stance on a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) deal with Republican lawmakers.
The proposed deal involves reallocating over 40 DEI positions in exchange for significant funding from the state legislature.
The plan includes pay raises for 35 thousand UW workers, construction of a new engineering building in Madison, and additional funding for university needs.
After narrowly rejecting the deal on Saturday, regents are now voting again, with Republicans emphasizing it as a take-it-or-leave-it offer.
