Manitowoc Public Utilities responded to several power outages and downed wire calls throughout the city yesterday, caused by high winds. MPU’s Dan Salm tells Seehafer News that about 250 customers were affected by a tripped downtown circuit about 4:30 am. The affected area bounded by Washington and Madison Streets from South 9th to South 20th Streets. Power was restored by 5:30. Meanwhile about a 3 minute outage occurred about 11 am affecting 500 customers in the area of South 10th and Viebahn Street from Columbus to South 42nd Streets. Salm says crews made emergency repairs to overhead equipment in the 4000 block of Viebahn Street.
