The Oostburg Fire Department was recently named the recipient of a $10,000 gift from Alliant Energy.
The company has stated that they are big proponents of safety and that this gift will help keep residents of Oostburg safe.
The fire department plans to use the cash to help purchase new equipment, although the exact equipment on their Christmas list was not revealed.
Over the past two years, the Alliant Energy Foundation has invested an estimated $1.2 million into local communities for safety initiatives.
They are also in the process of completing the 1,000-acre Onion River Sollar Project in the Town of Holland.
