A Manitowoc Police Officer was injured Friday night during a chase of an individual. The officer spotted a man walking north on North 8th Street, who was trying to shield his face from view. The officer looped around to try to get a better view of the individual, and again the man covered his face. The officer then asked the man to make his way to the vehicle, and the man took off. The officer chased the man, eventually making their way onto some railroad tracks. The officer failed to realize he had ran onto a bridge, which had open spaces between the ties. His foot slid between the ties, injuring his leg. The man was later captured by another officer and charged with Obstructing an Officer Resulting in Soft Tissue Injury, and Felony Bail Jumping.
