The FDA has issued a warning to Brenntag Great Lakes, a Wauwatosa company, cautioning against using equipment designated for brake cleaner in hand sanitizer production.
The FDA cited ‘significant violations’ observed during an inspection at the company’s Menomonee Falls plant.
Brenntag denies using the same equipment for both products, attributing the issue to a ‘documentation error.’
