A Manitowoc man with an open drug possession case has been sentenced in a separate drug-related case.
52-year-old Matthew K. Vertz was found guilty due to a no-contest plea on a charge of Maintaining a Drug Trafficking Place and was ordered by Judge Mark Rohrer to spend 18 months on probation.
Judge Rohrer also ordered Vertz to maintain absolute sobriety and to submit to random urine screens at his own expense.
An additional charge of Misdemeanor Bail Jumping was dismissed but read into the record.
Vertz and Jennifer C. Norrell were arrested after officers served a warrant on a home in the 800 block of South 19th Street in September of last year.
Vertz, who owned the home, admitted to allowing people to use his home as a place to use drugs.
Vertz was also arrested in May of this year on another charge of Maintaining a Drug Trafficking Place, as well as Resisting or Obstructing an Officer, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Felony Bail Jumping.
He also has three other open cases, where he is facing a total of thirteen Felony Bail Jumping charges, along with two Misdemeanor Bail Jumping charges and one count of Resisting or Obstructing an Officer.
