Wisconsin legislators are proposing a bill that requires school libraries to inform parents of the books their children have checked out within 24 hours.
Additionally, parents can request to see a record of everything their child has read at the school library.
This proposal only applies to children who are 16 years old and under.
The bill is set to be discussed in a Senate panel next week.
The aim of the proposal is to ensure that parents are aware of the reading material their children have access to at school.
