Trempealeau County is the latest site of a bird flu outbreak in Wisconsin.
The state’s Department of Agriculture confirmed the presence of the flu in a commercial flock in the county, leading to the planned destruction of over 51,000 birds to contain the spread.
Wisconsin’s only other bird flu case this year involved a flock of backyard chickens in Taylor County, where five birds were infected.
