Those who will be driving to see family this Thanksgiving are going to be pleasantly surprised at the gas pump.
According to the AAA Gas Prices webpage, Manitowoc County’s average price per gallon fell a whopping 14 cents since this time last week to $3.01, a price we haven’t seen since the start of the year.
Sheboygan and Calumet Counties each reported nine-cent drops to $3.05 and $3.04 respectively, while Outagamie County motorists are paying five cents less at the pump with an average of $2.94 per gallon.
Brown and Kewaunee Counties each reported seven-cent dips to $2.98 and $3.03 respectively, while Door County’s average per gallon is down five cents to $3.16.
The state average followed the local trend, dropping nine cents to an even $3.00, while the national average is down six cents to $3.29.
The local gas prices have been dropping pretty consistently since the second week of September when we sat at around $3.60 per gallon, the second-highest peak of the year.
