Governor Tony Evers has announced plans to modify lockdown procedures at two Wisconsin prisons, Waupun and Green Bay.
Inmates, who have been confined to their cells due to safety concerns and staffing shortages, will soon have increased access to prison programs.
Additionally, some inmates in Waupun may be relocated.
The governor has committed to addressing the shortage of prison guards, acknowledging the challenges faced in recruitment over the past two years.
