Green Bay Schools are contemplating an early start to the 2024-2025 school year to avoid scheduling classes during the NFL Draft in two years.
The school board plans to discuss seeking a waiver from the state to commence the school year in late August, ensuring closure during the late April NFL Draft hosted in Green Bay.
Wisconsin schools typically commence classes after September 1st, unless granted permission to start earlier.
With an anticipated influx of up to 300,000 people for the draft, the school district aims to minimize transportation challenges for students.
