As anticipated, the plan to finance the Brewers’ ballpark is undergoing revisions. Senators announced yesterday that they have agreed to implement a non-Brewer ticket tax, expected to generate approximately half a million dollars annually.
This tax, amounting to $2, will be applied to tickets for events such as concerts at American Family Field.
The revenue generated from this ticket tax will reduce the state’s financial contribution to the ballpark.
Senators now project the state’s share of the deal to be approximately $377 million, down from the initial proposal of $411 million.
Republicans are hopeful that these changes will garner enough votes to pass the ballpark funding package as early as next week.
