Dontae Payne
The man accused of killing a man in Kaukauna in 2021 has accepted a plea deal.
29-year-old Dontae Payne was originally charged with 1st Degree Intentional Homicide and Armed Robbery, but under the plea agreement, he would instead be found guilty due to a no-contest plea to a charge of 2nd Degree Intentional Homicide, which would reduce his maximum prison sentence to 60 years.
Payne, along with 31-year-old Tanya Stammer, was arrested shortly after investigators found the body of Brian Porsche in his home on West Division Street in March of 2021.
Stammer was previously convicted for 2nd Degree Intentional Homicide and was sentenced to 23 years in prison.
Payne is due back in court on November 16th to formalize the plea, and to set a date for his sentencing.
