Former Mayor Kevin Crawford will lead a delegation of tourism professionals from the Manitowoc Area Visitor and Convention Bureau (MAVCB) to the NFL planning session and briefing at the Green Bay Visitor Center.
Joining Crawford will be MAVCB board of directors members Shooter Loch, owner of the Manitowoc AmericInn and Patty Lehn, executive director of Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center. “This invitation-only event will culminate with a press conference at Lambeau Field where the NFL will announce the much-anticipated dates of the draft,” Crawford stated.
“The MAVCB is our area’s only destination marketing organization (DMO) recognized by Discover Wisconsin. It will be our responsibility to help provide excellent service to the 240,000 visitors to this area for the draft. We will also be responsible to attract as many visitors to Manitowoc as possible to gain economic benefit for our families,” Crawford continued.
The Manitowoc Area Visitor and Convention Bureau has been Manitowoc County’s premier destination marketing organization for 30 years, since its inception in 1993. “If Packer home games are any indication, the MAVCB should help give business to every hotel for the duration of the NFL Draft event. Visitor businesses from the Wisconsin Maritime Museum to Farm Wisconsin to the Wharf to PetSkull Brewing Company should be huge beneficiaries as well!”
