The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is warning of potentially lower deer harvest numbers for the 2023 hunting seasons, attributing this decrease to reduced snowfall.
Deer specialist Jeff Pritzl expressed skepticism that hunters would replicate their success from the previous year.
He explained that snow cover during hunting season typically makes it easier to track and hunt deer.
In the previous year, hunters harvested 203,000 deer, marking an eight percent increase over the state’s five-year average.
