Manitowoc man who was involved in a hit and run last year has been sentenced.
22-year-old Hunter D. Vanroekel was previously found guilty due to a no-contest plea to a charge of Hit and Run Involving Injury and was ordered by Judge Jerylin Dietz to spend 12 months on probation.
Police were sent to the intersection of South 13th and Washington Street in April of 2022 when an individual reported they were hit by a car while riding their bike.
The victim gave a description of the vehicle and a nearly complete license plate number, and police found the vehicle a short time later.
When police approached Vanroekel he reportedly told police that he was the guy they were looking for.
Vanroekel was also ordered to maintain full-time employment, schooling, or work search while on probation, and to wear a monitor bracelet.
