In an email sent this week, the University of Wisconsin’s President, Jay Rothman, encouraged university administrators to lobby state lawmakers to reinstate the four percent pay raise that was recently eliminated.
Rothman has also requested campus chancellors to leverage alumni networks and local civic and business leaders to put pressure on lawmakers.
The Republican-controlled legislature abolished the UW pay raises during an ongoing controversy over diversity, equity, and inclusion spending at the universities.
