The Waukesha County eye drops murder trial’s focus shifted to financial matters as prosecutors called a Waukesha County Sheriff’s detective to the stand.
The detective discussed the alleged theft of $290,000 by Jessy Kurczewski from her friend shortly before her death in 2018.
The detective highlighted a pattern of theft both before and after Kurczewski began managing her friend’s finances, revealing that she downloaded her friend’s banking app onto her phone and engaged in substantial spending, including over $4,000 at the Potawatomi Casino shortly before her friend’s demise.
Kurczewski has denied poisoning her friend, asserting that her friend was a drug addict and suicidal.
