The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has confirmed the presence of chronic wasting disease in two deer from western Wisconsin.
One deer, taken from Polk County, is the first to test positive for the disease, leading to the imposition of a new three-year ban on baiting and feeding in the county.
In Trempealeau County, another deer tested positive, prompting the reinstatement of a baiting and feeding ban, despite prior occurrences of the disease in the area.
