The former Sheboygan County Administrator who took the job as DNR Secretary will be stepping down from that role next week.
Adam Payne took the role after being appointed by Governor Tony Evers last December.
As for the reason for his decision, Payne says he wants to spend more time with his parents, who are getting up there in years, as well as his wife and grandchildren.
While we do not know who the next DNR Secretary is going to be, Payne is quoted by WHBL out of Sheboygan as saying that the agency will be in “good hands.”
