Unions and advocates converged at the Wisconsin Capitol in a demonstration against the state’s proposal to alter its political mapping procedures.
SEIU and Voces de la Frontera rallied to voice their opposition, urging legislators not to adopt a redistricting commission.
They assert that this plan would perpetuate a Republican-leaning political map for Wisconsin and advocate for the Wisconsin Supreme Court, which holds a liberal majority, to be responsible for drawing the map.
Their central message remains that citizens should have a say in electing their representatives, rather than the reverse.
