The trial for Jessy Kurczewski, a resident of Pewaukee who stands accused of allegedly murdering her friend with eye drops, has commenced in Waukesha County.
Kurczewski is facing homicide charges for the 2018 incident in which her friend was poisoned with eye drops.
It is also alleged that she embezzled nearly $300,000 from the victim.
Kurczewski has presented a defense arguing that her friend was struggling with drug addiction and suicidal thoughts.
Both sides delivered their opening statements during proceedings held yesterday, and the trial is expected to span as long as a month.
