The proposal to allocate half a billion dollars in taxpayer funds for the Brewers’ ballpark could soon become a reality.
The Wisconsin Senate has scheduled a vote on the funding package for this Wednesday.
Lawmakers have discussed potential amendments before the vote, including the implementation of a tax on non-Brewers events held at the ballpark.
Governor Evers and civic leaders in Milwaukee are in favor of this plan, and the Brewers have committed to remaining in Milwaukee until 2050 if the agreement is approved.
