A school bus crash late last week landed a Fond du Lac County girl in the hospital.
The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office reports that the bus was traveling north on Highway 44/49 in the Township of Ripon at around 4:30 Friday afternoon with three students in the back.
For a yet undisclosed reason, the driver lost control of the bus and it swerved into the east ditch.
It then struck a raised driveway, causing the bus to fly over the driveway and come to rest on the other side.
The bus did remain upright, but an 8-year-old girl in the back suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
She was taken to Ripon Medical Center before being flown by helicopter to Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee.
There is no word on her condition at this time.
It is also not clear if the driver will be facing any charges or the extent of any other injuries sustained.
