Alliant Energy officials say the company has shut down utility service to some customers in the Janesville and Edgerton area because of flooding. Officials say the areas that are most affected are low-lying properties near rivers, streams and lakes. Alliant Energy officials said some basements have flooded, causing utility equipment to be underwater. Alliant officials say they continue to monitor the situation and will only interrupt service when it becomes absolutely necessary for health and safety reasons.
