University President Jay Rothman has revealed a new name for the University of Wisconsin.
Henceforth, it will be known as the “Universities of Wisconsin.”
This decision marks a significant shift from the previous label, the UW-System. According to Rothman, the name change is aimed at redirecting the focus from the concept of a university system to the unique identities of individual campuses and their dedication to the communities they serve.
Rothman expressed his hope that this fresh nomenclature will foster a more relatable connection and enhance public awareness regarding the numerous UW universities situated throughout the state.
The Universities of Wisconsin comprises a total of 13 four-year campuses, each contributing to the state’s rich academic landscape.
