Bail was set at $500 cash yesterday for a 46 year old Manitowoc man who was taken into custody yesterday after allegedly saying he was going to kill a Manitowoc police officer.
Court records show that Charles A. Hunt came to the police station around 1:25 am saying someone was trying to harm him. He was taken inside after he claimed he was homeless and had nowhere to go.
After being taken inside Hunt began speaking about harming another officer. He also allegedly continued to make threats against the officer and at one point he squared up to the officer with balled fists raised near his face.
The police report states that Hunt was tased after ignoring officer commands to back down and was taken into custody. Later he allegedly told that officer that he would kill him. Hunt remains in the County Jail with his initial appearance for Monday afternoon at 2:30
