Parents are being cautioned regarding a concerning issue involving AI-generated nude images.
Authorities in Muskego responded to a distress call last week from the parents of a middle school girl who reported an unsettling incident on Snapchat.
The girl had befriended an individual she believed to be a 15-year-old boy and innocently shared some photos.
However, it was soon revealed that this person was, in reality, a 33-year-old man who then made explicit demands for nude pictures.
He also threatened to manipulate the innocent images to appear explicit if his demands were not met.
Muskego Police School Resource Officer Chris Kristalidis expressed concerns that such incidents could become a troubling trend.
This recent incident is not the first warning issued about the dangers of AI-generated nude photo threats, as the FBI had previously issued a warning on this matter in June.
Authorities from Muskego Police are actively working to track down the suspect through Snapchat.
However, they have not disclosed the likelihood of making an arrest at this time.
