The public is encouraged to focus on their mental health next week during Mental Health Awareness Week.
The first week in October was designated as Mental Health Awareness Week in 1990 by the U.S. Congress, and organizations around the country have been using it to help shine a light on the importance of taking care of one’s mental health.
One of those organizations is NAMI Manitowoc County, which is inviting anyone who has experienced a mental health disorder or illness to their meeting on Monday.
The wellness meeting is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at Berkshire Hathaway, located at 907 South 8th Street.
Those in attendance will be sharing their stories with each other, and showing everyone that they are not alone.
This coincides with the theme of the week, “Together We Care, Together We Share”.
