The Wisconsin State Senate is modifying a bill aimed at increasing fines for reckless driving in school zones.
Currently, the maximum fine for failing to stop for a school bus stands at $300.
An amendment to the legislation seeks to raise fines for this violation, ranging from $300 to $1,000.
Before becoming law, the amended bill requires approval from the Assembly before proceeding to the Governor’s desk for final consideration.
