For the second time in less than a week, an area teenager has died following a crash, this time in Calumet County.
The Calumet County Sheriff’s Office reports that the yet unidentified 16-year-old girl from the Town of New Holstein was driving east on Foundry Road just south of New Holstein just before 7:30 Thursday morning.
Her vehicle struck another car traveling south on Plymouth Trail with both vehicles ending up in the ditch.
While the driver of the first vehicle died at the scene, her 16-year-old male passenger, also from the Town of New Holstein, was taken to Ascension Calumet Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and the 16-year-old male driver of the second vehicle, who is from the City of New Holstein, was taken to Aurora Medical Center Sheboygan with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Wisconsin State Patrol is still investigating the crash while New Holstein High School has called additional counselors to the school.
