The city of Milwaukee is actively pursuing a resolution to a lawsuit linked to a tragic 2018 homicide, which the victim’s mother contends could have been averted.
Malik Terrell inflicted fatal injuries on 15-year-old Dennis King and subsequently incinerated his remains.
King’s mother initiated legal action against the city based on the premise that Terrell had dialed 911 on himself, reporting the assault to the police.
During the call, a 911 dispatcher documented an incorrect address, leading to a delay in the police’s response.
First responders only discovered Dennis King’s lifeless body after the incident had already transpired.
Milwaukee’s city attorney is presently examining the possibility of a $50,000 settlement in connection with this lawsuit.
