Madison Police have reported that the individual accused of the vicious attack on a University of Wisconsin (UW) student this past weekend has claimed he “lost control of his emotions.”
Legal charges were formally filed against 26-year-old Brandon Thompson yesterday in connection with the incident.
Thompson now faces charges related to assault, sexual assault, and severe bodily harm to a young woman in the early hours of last Sunday.
While investigators have indicated that Thompson acknowledged assaulting the woman, he vehemently denied the sexual assault allegations.
According to eyewitnesses, Thompson was discovered standing over the injured woman, with her blood visibly covering him at the scene.
In light of these allegations, Thompson has been remanded into custody and is presently being held on a $1 million bond at the Dane County Jail.
