The commencement of the school year at a DeForest elementary school experienced a slight delay on its first day, owing to concerns about a potential gas leak
A custodian at Yahara Elementary School detected the scent of natural gas early in the morning, just before students were set to begin their first day of classes.
After a thorough inspection, no gas leak was found, and the odor subsequently dissipated.
Madison Gas and Electric subsequently issued an “all clear” around 9:00 a.m., allowing the school day to proceed as planned.
