The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers are getting hot as the regular season nears its end.
In last week’s six-game series against the Beloit Sky Carp, the Rattlers swept the series, holding the Carp to only 8 runs all week while the offense brought home 34 runs at ABC Supply Stadium.
The Rattlers’ final matchup of the regular season is going to be much tougher, as instead of facing the team seeded dead last in the Midwest League, they will be squaring off against the top team in the league, the Cedar Rapids Kernels.
The Kernels enter the weeklong series with an 80 and 46 record, which gives them a 12-game lead over the Peoria Chiefs, the team in second in the West Division, and a 7.5-game lead over the Great Lakes Loons who sit atop the East Division.
Nate Peterson is slated to get the start tonight at Fox Cities Stadium for game one, with a first pitch scheduled for 6:40 p.m.
