A teenager who had been reported missing in Lake Michigan was found safe over the weekend.
A call reporting the 17-year-old boy missing came in at around 6:00 Sunday evening, and personnel from the Sheboygan Police and Fire Departments, Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office, and the U.S. Coast Guard were all called in to search the area around King Park.
Search crews were able to locate the teen uninjured just after 7:00 p.m.
It should be noted that a beach hazard statement was in effect at the time and continues through this morning.
When beach hazard statements are in effect, the National Weather Service suggests remaining out of the affected lakes to avoid hazardous swimming conditions.
