A former Green Bay pastor will be spending time in a federal prison after he pleaded guilty in a child exploitation case.
40-year-old Cory J. Herthel pleaded guilty to a charge of Attempted Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, a charge which carries with it a minimum 15-year sentence in federal prison.
Herthel first met the victim while on a mission trip in Ecuador, where the child was begging in the streets.
While the child and their mother returned to Venezuela, Herthel maintained contact, and the two exchanged sexual videos and pictures.
He also admitted to authorities that he sent the child money through various online means.
Herthel is due back in court on December 4th for his sentencing.
