Nate Peterson picked up the win, going 5 innings while allowing four hits while Nick Merkel went 3 innings and allowed only two hits.
Shane Smith closed out the game on the mound, striking out two of the last three batters, and allowing no one on base.
At the plate, Hendry Mendez went 2 for 4, including a solo homer run, while a triple from Eduarqui Fernandez drove in a pair of runs.
The Rattlers will again take on the Sky Carp tonight in game two of their six-game series.
Cameron Wagoner is set to take on Ike Buxton on the mound with first pitch at ABC Supply Stadium scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
